If only two players are used for singles, same as MDCF. • Doubles - can be played by any two players in the team (same as MDCF).

  10. Rationale behind the changes Fixed division • Uneven number of teams in a division (too many or too few) • Sandbagging friendly

  11. Rationale behind the changes • Dynamic Division • Similar number of teams in a division (easier to manage) • Sandbagging unfriendly

  12. 3-player-9-singles format • A nice format • Used internationally before • Great for people want to play lots of matches • Table tennis is a concern

  13. Olympic Format • A great format • Suitable for more dedicated/serious teams • Very rigid. Three and only three players for a team contest. • Only one player gets to play two singles per team contest. More players prefer to play singles. • Some teams had difficulty getting 3 players - especially for away contests. In turn, lots of rescheduling requests. In turn, increased the already heavy workload for the BATTF staff. • Lots of complaints from some teams

  14. Modified Davis Cup Format • More flexible. Only two players are required to play a team contest. • Two players get to play two singles. • Any two players can play doubles. • Up to four players can play a team contest. Good for teams that wants to use more players. • Decreased the number of requests to reschedule.

  15. Format for the New Season • Even more flexible. • Only requires two players to play a team contest • Up to 6 players can play a team contest if so desired • A player can play 1 to 3 matches • one singles • one doubles • one singles and one doubles • two singles • two singles and one doubles

  16. Team Score • Two points for a win • One point for a loss • Zero point for a default • All results will be posted on the website • All matches will be entered into USATT League website

Prize • Cash prize to be determined • Top division Winner • A Butterfly Centrefold 25 Sky Rollaway tournament used table (a $1249.99 value) • All division winners • $100 Butterfly gift certificate • two Larry Hodges new coaching books (a $19.99 value per book) • All division runner-ups • $50 Butterfly gift certificate • one Larry Hodges new coaching book

  18. Rules for Reschedule • One lifeline per team for the first request - no penalty • Has to give 48 hours advance notice • Has to decide the new date when requesting to reschedule • Penalty for 2nd and 3rd requests • 1.9 points for winning • 0.9 point for losing • Disqualification on 4th request • There are only 10 contests a season!
