  2. Meet Author and Illustrator: Millicent E. Selsam Millicent E. Selsam was born on May 30, 1912, in Brooklyn, New York. She became interested in science when she was in high school by going on field trips. Millicent E. Selsam was a high school science teacher for ten years. She also liked to grow many kinds of plants. The first book she wrote was Egg to Chick in 1946.

Story Summary:You can become nature detectives by learning the differences between many animal tracks and how to use clues to help decide what kind of animal you are tracking.
