Progress So Far • Wellbeing Assessment (WA): data being gathered. • Ecosystem-Based Management (EBM) Framework: discussion paper being prepared. • Cultural and Social Spatial Analysis (CSSA): methodology being developed. • Economic Gain Spatial Analysis (EGSA): RFP issued; due to start 1 August.
EBM Framework: Product • Strategic direction: what EBM aims to achieve (goals, objectives, indicators, etc.). • Implementation procedures and tools: how to achieve EBM (decision making principles, planning activities and products, analytical tools, etc.).
EBM Framework: Process • To be prepared by an EBM specialist group and a reference group drawn from CIT and pilot project teams. • EBM Framework Discussion Paper + Gitga’at-Kitasoo/Xaixais Pilot Project EBM Framework + two North Coast LRMP papers on EBM: July 23. • Specialist and reference group comments: by August 16. • CCLRMP participant comments: by August 20. • Draft EBM Framework document: by September 17. • Specialist and reference group workshop: by October 15. • Final EBM Framework: October 30.
WA performance criteria and ESA targets • CIT WA team drafts performance criteria: September 17-20. • LRMP TPT/CIT WA team/CIT ESA team joint review of WA performance criteria and ESA targets: Sep. 30-Oct. 3. • CCLRMP participant feedback on ecosystem performance criteria and ESA targets: October 15-17 (Port Hardy) [Thanksgiving Oct. 14]. • CCLRMP participant feedback on human performance criteria: October 23-25 (Bella Coola).
CSSA: key points for the Central Coast • What places are culturally or socially important and why? • Compilation and review of existing data: August. • Bob Lee meetings with community sages to identify community components and sources (NE Vancouver Island and Central Coast: contacts?): August. • Arrangements with First Nations: July-August. • Data gathering: September-October. • FN and CCLRMP reviews of preliminary analysis: late November or early December.
