Where the Serbs came from • The Serbs migrated from White Serbia and settled in the Balklands in 610-626 lead by the Unknown Archont.
Ruler • The Serbs were ruled by the Byzantine Empire, between the 11th and 12th centuries. After the 12th century the Serbs started their own empire. The Serbian Empire dissolves into numerous independent Serbian duchies. In 1739 the Ottoman Empire rules Serbia.
Influence • Byzantine Empire acted like guardians for the Serbs. Most Serbs were influenced by the Byzantine Empire. Due to Byzantine pressure the Serbs religion is mostly Orthodox Christianity.
Religion • Serbia is a multi religious country. The dominate religion is Orthodox Christianity. Population for Orthodox is 6,371,584.
Economy • Services- 63% of GDP • Exports- iron/steel, cloths, cereals, vegetables, and non-ferrous metals.
The 3 Ways • Rich, fertile lands were good for growing crops. • Mountain ranges stretch from the northwest to the southeast. This divided the land. • Plenty of rivers. These rivers were used for transportation and transporting goods.
