How did their ruler influence the region? • The region was influenced by the empire it was ruled by, which affected their architecture, music and foods. Marriages outside of the country also affected and eventually changed the country.
What conflicts were they involved with before the break up of Yugoslavia? • They were in a conflict with the Ottoman Empire as well as a civil war with Kosovo.
What religion do they practice? • Orthodox Christianity
What is their economy based on? • Based on services, which are almost 65% of the economy. Free market
Physical Geography • Serbia's geography is fertile plains in the north, which provided mineral water for exports. • The north is largely covered by the Danube River, which provided a waterway for shipping • Mountains cover many parts of the country. The largest are the Carpathian Mountains and the Dinaric Alps, which make it a moderate continental climate.
