  1. Leuzinger High School Multimedia Careers Academy MCA The MCA is a community of critical thinkers, problem-solvers, and technological artists. We work and create collaboratively to progress individually, artistically, and academically.

The Leuzinger High School Multimedia Careers Academy (MCA) is a small learning community and state-recognized California Partnership Academy. • The MCA explores the Arts, Media, and Entertainment segment of career technical education, and our three areas of focus are: • Digital Film Production, Digital Photography, and Digital Media Arts. • The MCA provides students with academic and career technical skills, as well as opportunities to gain certification in Microsoft Office, Final Cut, and Adobe. • Students also explore a variety of media-related field work, and and form supportive relationships with students, teachers, and business leaders.

The Media Lab • 32 iMac computers • -Microsoft Office: • -Adobe Creative Suite 3 • Final Cut Pro • ComicLife • MCA Media Club • The MCA Media Lab will be used by all technical and core classes • to integrate multimedia into curriculum, and provide students • with access to computers, software, and ultimate certification.

  10. Career Tech Student Organization (CTSO) CEO: Communicates with all branches of the MCA to facilitate achievement of MCA vision. Film& TV President: LTV, internships, jobs, career workshops Digital Art President: MCA website, internships, jobs, career workshops Photojournalism President: The Torch, internships, jobs, career workshops COO: Clubs, student body, leadership and communication CFO: Expenditures, equipment, fundraising, and community partners Representatives: 10th, 11th, and 12th: Grade-level activities

MCA + *Field Trips: -USC School of Cinematic Arts -Museum of Tolerance -Art Institute, Los Angeles *Mentorships/Internships: - All MCA juniors work with a mentor in the Arts, Media & Entertainment industry and MCA seniors work toward internships in the career pathway of their choice *Guest Speakers: Brian Van Holt- Actor: ABC show Cougar Town, Albert Hughes- Director: The Book of Eli Eric Elder- Game Development: Art Institute, Los Angeles *Clubs: Media Club and CTSO/MCA Club *Academic probation: All students with any grades below a “C” are provided additional support, monitoring, and opportunities to improve.
