Answer 3 • What does Macbeth say used to frighten him? c) Sad news and people shouting • “The time has been, my sense would have cooled/ To hear a night shriek…….I have supped full with horrors;/ Direness, familiar to my slaughter house thoughts,/ Cannot once start me.” This reminds of Act 2, Scene 2 when Macbeth jumped at the slightest noise. He has become cold and heartless.

Answer 6 • How does Macbeth feel at the end of the scene. • Fearful but determined to fight to the death Macbeth could have decided to stay inside and wait out the siege, it seems he may be willing to die. “I ‘gin to be aweary of the sun,/ And wish the estate o’ the world were now undone.” This means I am beginning to be tired of life and wish the ordered universe would fall apart.
