  2. The Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR), formerly also known as CP Rail. The Canadian pacific railway began being constructed in 1871. The railway was finished by 1881. The railway was built buy foreigners willing to work for cheap labour. After the rail was finished the foreiners were sent back to there country.

  3. The Railway started to connect the country with trade between • This is called intercolonial trade. • The Intercolonial trade was crucial because free trade was abolished between other countries.

  4. Why was this important? This was important because it made it easier to transport coal and other resources from Halifax to Vancouver. The first thing sent from Halifax to Vancouver was soldiers. It was also used for trade within the country after Britain cancelled free trade with other countries. So food and crops that were fertile at one side of the country was sent across the country to the others without that fertile crop.
