  2. 9.6 Graphing Quadratic Inequalities • Reminder: when graphing inequalities, you have to SHADE the part of the graph this makes the inequality true.

  3. Steps to graphing quadratic inequality • Sketch the graph of the parabola • Find the vertex, • 1 point to the left, • 1 point to the right, • use a dashed parabola for > or <. • Use a solid parabola for > or < • Test one point either inside or outside of the parabola. (0,0) is easiest if it is not on the parabola. • If that point makes the inequality true, shade in the area that contains that point. If it makes the inequality false, shade the opposite area.

  4. Need a piece of graph paper • Graph y < x2 – 4x + 2 • Graph y > 2x2 – 8x + 2
