  2. Primary Research: Fashion Interviews • For part of my primary research I decided to create a short interview about fashion to gather some information for my magazine. I asked two people the following three questions. Question One: How would you describe your current style? Question Two: If you could change one thing about modern fashion what would it be? Question Three: Do you think previous fashion trends are making a comeback and if so why?

  3. Primary Research: Fashion Interviews • Here are the answers I received for my interview questions: Question One: How would you describe your current style? Person No.1: “A mixture between ‘emo’ and ‘goth’.” Person No.2: “Ermm scruffy and frumpy. I don’t really know, I don’t think I even have a style do I?!” Question Two: If you could change one thing about modern fashion what would it be? Person No.1: “No more man bags (like the ‘Adidas’ and ‘Nike’ ones).” Person No.2: “I don’t think there’s any special style now, like you can imagine 70s and 80s clothes but now everyone just wears a mixture of everything which is a bit boring, so it would be nice if there were some more trends. Also ban Active wear!” Question Three: Do you think previous fashion trends are making a comeback and if so why? Person No.1: “Yeah definitely, trends from the 90s have made a big comeback recently, I think it’s because people are inspired by previous generations but then make the style their own.” Person No.2: “There seems to be more 90s style fashion around like: grunge, flannels, skater clothes, etc. and also bright neon rave type clothes. There’s also a it of 80s stuff ;like animal print and bight colours. I think fashion goes in circles as thee are only so many patterns and colours so they come in and out of fashion.”

Primary Research: Soundcloud Rap • To gather more primary research I used social media platform Instagram's question feature to help see what artists my target audience knew so I could further research these artists for my article, these are the results. I noticed that ‘Lil Peep’ came up a lot so I will be mentioning him in my magazine.

  5. Similar Existing Products • The first similar product I looked at was an old magazine from 2005 called FOCUS. It is a magazine about many topics, including fashion. • One thing I like about this magazine is that it has many types of interesting spreads which makes it engaging as there is lots to look at. • One thing I am going to try and incorporate in my magazine is a variety of different styles as it makes the magazine more interesting to read.

  6. Similar Existing Products • The secondsimilar product I looked at was an old magazine from 1985 called Smash Hits Yearbook. It is a magazine about music and different bands and artists. • One thing I like about this magazine is that it has a bright front cover and the backgrounds throughout are mostly white with hints of colour in the text and photographs. • One thing I am going to try and incorporate in my magazine are minimalistic backgrounds with colour in the text and photos.

  7. Secondary Research: Similar Existing Products • The first online similar product I looked at was a recent article written for the famous Vogue magazine. This article was showcasing different streetwear trends of spring 2019. One thing I liked about this article is that it showed a lot of diverse photography by showing people of all different ages, sizes and ethnicities. I think diversity is a hugely important thing to include in my magazine as it is interesting to see a range of different styles from all sorts of different people, so I will be trying to carry this technique over to my magazine.

  8. Secondary Research: Similar Existing Products • The second online source I looked at was an online magazine about photography by Leica Fotografie International. I really liked the layout of this magazine as it included many different layouts such as a photo on a double page and pages with text on one side but photos on the other. I want to try and incorporate different layout styles into my magazine and this source was useful as it gave me lots of inspiration and ideas for my own magazine.

Topic Research: Soundcloud Rap • For the First part of my topic research I will be researching about the rising and falling of the music genre SoundCloud rap.  • I will be using online sources such as online articles and informative websites to find important facts and statistics to use in my article. • I will be researching about the origin of Soundcloud rap, some of the artists and the negative stereotypes such as drug abuse. • All the information I will find during topic research will be helpful as it will help me to write my articles for my magazine as I will have more knowledge.

Topic Research: Soundcloud Rap Origin • Some of the first recognized SoundCloud rappers/mumble rappers were Yung Lean and Lil B. • A benefit of using SoundCloud is that it is free to upload your music and the marketing is up to you, this is why SoundCloud rappers may have such excentric styles, like face tattoos and bold fashion choices to help promote themselves. • The origin of SoundCloud rap was around 2010 and the main aspects for it include: autotune, drum machines and sometimes mumbled vocals. •  In January 2019, citing the deaths of rappers Lil Peep in 2017 and XXXTentacion in 2018, Lil Xan's entry into rehab, and 6ix9ine's legal troubles, Stephen Witt of Rolling Stone magazine argued that the SoundCloud rap wave of the past few years was now in decline.

  13. Topic Research: Soundcloud Rap Lil Peep Facts about deceased rapper Lil Peep: • Lil Peep’s autopsy ruled that his death was an accident caused by a combination of fentanyl and Xanax. The toxicology report found extremely high levels of both substances in Peep’s system, along with cocaine, marijuana and a slew of opiates. • He got his first face tattoo, a broken heart, at 17, as a sign of his commitment to avoiding the straight life. “A tattoo on your face,” he explained later, “is gonna stop you from getting a lot of jobs.” • Gothboiclique’s Horse Head, who was with Peep in El Paso, says that by this point in the tour “the drugs were kind of normalized.” Although he admits the idea of taking so many Xanax “is fucking insane. I just figured he can handle himself.” • “He was so cute, small and blond, like a little yellow chick,” she says. “So I started calling him ‘Peep.’
