Participant Accrual: Definition • The Cumulative number of participants that have begun the project to date. In this report, participants are counted in the accrual number when the Baseline Assessment of Core Elements (BACE/B1) form for a given participant is submitted to the Coordinating Center.

Data Submission • Bi-Weekly Data Submission • Baseline Form Submission (BACE/B1, PBQ/B2, FBQ/B3) • Follow-up Form Submission (FACE/F1, PFQ/F2, FFQ/F3) • Participant Attrition (Drop-Outs)
Data Submission: Bi-Weekly • Most grantees did an excellent job with the required bi-weekly data submission schedule. • 31 (86%) of the grant programs submitted the Excel Registry and Tracking Logsheet on their scheduled submission dates more than 90% of the time. • Only 2 grant programs missed more than 20% of their scheduled data submissions.

Data Submission: Follow-Up Forms • The cumulative number of DP Follow-Up Forms submitted in 2006, table 2.03: • 453 Follow-up Assessment of Core Elements (FACE/F1) forms • 460 Participant Follow-up Questionnaires (PFQ/F2) • 253 Family Follow-up Questionnaires (FFQ/F3)
Data Submission: Participant Attrition (Drop Outs) • The overall rate of participants who dropped out among all participants is 4.7%, table 2.04, as reported to the CC up to December 31, 2006. • At that time, more than half (64%) of the grant programs had not reported any participants to have dropped out, while the highest drop-out numbers among all the grant programs was 7 (out of 51 participants).

Data Quality: Missing Data • The quality of data varies across grant programs. Table 3.01 presents the number of forms with missing or invalid data that were identified by the CC prior to data entry. • The percentage of B1 forms with unresolved missing data (not resolved after two rounds/months of ENLs) is shown in Table 3.02.
Data Quality: Unresolved Missing Data • A comparison of Tables 3.02 and 3.01 shows the difference between the number of forms with missing or invalid data up first submission and the number of forms with missing or unconfirmed data following contact form the CC requesting submission )or confirmation of) the missing values. • Prior to contact form the CC, 57.9% of forms had missing or invalid data. Following contact from the CC through ENLs, 14.4% of forms had neither 1) been corrected or 2) had the missing values confirmed as not obtained. • This shows that DP grantees have done a good job responding to ENLs!
Data Quality: Timeline Compliance • The baseline timeline requirements mandate that baseline data be collected within one month before each individual’s first DPP class. • Many grant programs struggled to meet timeline requirements. About one quarter (26.3%) of the BACE forms submitted to the CC did not meet all of the timeline requirements for the Baseline Assessment.

Baseline Data: Sociodemographics • Figures 4.01 to 4.05: • There are more female participants (75%) than male participants (25%). • The average age is 46, with 31% being younger than age 40 and 15% age 60 or older.

Baseline Data: Clinical Characteristics • Table 4.01: • Average weight of participants is 217 lbs • Average Body Mass index is 36.0 • Average waist circumference is 43.7 inches for women and 45.0 inches for men • Average waist-to-hip ratio is 0.9
Baseline Data: Lifestyle Measurements • Figures 4.06 to 4.09: • 23% of participants reported that they already met the program goal for physical activity – at least 150 minutes per week. • 45% of the participants reported having never smoked, while 26% are former smokers and 29% are current smokers.

Present your program to your community • Update Tribal/clinic/community leaders, providers, others on your program • your program successes • how you are doing in relation to other sites • reminder of the goals, your program’s importance to your community, how leaders might help • big picture: part of a national demonstration project, learning for your community and so that others may have opportunity to do this in the future
