  3. 20 acre facility responsible for processing all sewage for Lady’s Island and St. Helena Island • NO fire protection systems or alarm panel on site • NO propane on site • Built approximately 1984-1985 • Electrical shutoff located in pump room & water shutoff located south of pump room adjacent to road

Hours of operation 7:30- 4:00 • * someone will be there for approximately 2 hours every day sometime during this period • Effluent (processed water) is discharged to only 2 places: Dataw Golf Course and Henry Farms Sod Farm • DHEC sets the limit of no more than (9) chlorine cylinders on site at any one time (empty, full, in-use)

  7. Special Considerations and Safety • Standing water on the property; parking off roadway could lead to becoming stuck • Overhead power lines above entrance • High amperage equipment on property • Potential for drowning • Chlorine gas • Confined space • Noise (pumps and aerators) • snakes and (1) 3’ alligator

  8. 1 water treatment plant located in Okatie • 7 wastewater treatment plants located in • Cherry Point (will be upgraded soon ***) • Hardeeville • Port Royal (newest reclamation plant) • St. Helena • (3) lagoons throughout the county • (3) more wastewater plants to come: Paris Is., MCAS, and Laurel Bay
