Sharing of central office personnel • Special Education personnel already shared and jointly employed (this school year) • Superintendent will be jointly hired by all three school districts • New position: Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education (1.0 FTE) • New position: Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning and Accountability (0.3 FTE) MARS presentation to Swift River SC
Our theory of action • Agreements / changes in administration are done to improve education • This arrangement must be cost-neutral for all three districts • Arrangements must be based on the expressed shared interests of the member towns, school committees and communities MARS presentation to Swift River SC

Key provisions in the draft amended Regional Agreement • Mahar K-12 Regional District School Committee members will be elected at large, with a residency requirement. • New Salem and Wendell will each have two seats on the committee of twelve. • Only Orange and Petersham SD members will vote on matters affecting Mahar elementary schools (Orange and Petersham). • Towns will have the option to direct additional funding to their town elementary school(s).
