Why study engineering? • Solve problems creatively • Opportunities for individual and teamwork • Scholarship opportunities abound • Well rounded education while gaining practical skills • You still can (and have to) take non-engineering classes! • Post-graduate options – lots of open doors • Medical school, Law school, business school? • Great career options!

Why be an engineer? • Never get bored – always be working on and learning new things • Solve real problems in the world today • Have real impact on others • Opportunities to excel at technical and business levels • Tech company perks – flexible schedules, remote work, travel • Financial stability and independence • Lots of choice! Great career options that enable exciting opportunities and adventures

  5. Career options Start-ups – if you have a great idea engineering helps make it happen Work on everything from solar cells to spaceships Patent law, teaching, science writing, public policy, the list is endless Impact big decisions – you often don’t need an MBA!

Outreach • Mentorship is important • Who helped inspire you to study math, science or engineering? • Works at many different levels • Keep attending events where you can meet other women in STEM • Meet women leaders and peers • Volunteer and mentor younger women interested in STEM • Engineer your World, Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day, etc
