  2. Don't... Go with the lowest bidder Roofing is a highly- competitive market, and there are a lot of operations - especially newcomers - who will underbid, often to the point of sounding too good to be true. It pretty much always is. Your roofing decision should be based on quality, not price.

  3. Don't... Go without checking their insurance Ask them about their insurance, and get the number of their insurance company. Their provider can verify for you that they're fully covered for roofing work. If not, find someone else.

  4. Don't... Leave them alone to inspect the roof We often hear "Do I have to be at home when you come to inspect the property?" among our first-time clients. The answer to this should always be yes! A proper inspection prior to any major roofing work requires inspecting the house interior, especially the upper level or attic, to look for any problems beneath the roof.

  5. Don't... Ever accept a bid without a contract This might seem like common sense, but you'd be surprised how many horror stories we've heard. It's almost universally scam operations who try to pull this: They promise an extra low price, then claim they want to get started "right away" or they don't want to "waste your time" on the paperwork.
