A flexible combination of school-TAFE-work: • Mathematics, English, Work Studies, Integrated Science (3 days per week) • TAFE; Apprenticeship; Traineeship (1 day) • Work Placement (1 day) • Tertiary Entrance Courses • General Studies Courses (WSA / non-TEE)

  3. Getting it Right Course selection should be based on SIN: Success Interest Need The best predictor of future performance is past performance

  4. Course Prerequisites Year 10 course achievement (Grade); and/or Exam Result (Week 4 this Term) Tertiary Courses Examples • Biological Science – Science B Pathway: B Grade in ‘Genetics’ and 65% in Exam • English – B Grade and 65% in Exam • Economics – B Grade and 60% in Exam; and B Grade in English

Career Counselling Process • Term 1 and 2 S&E: decision making, job research, course selection, jigcal • Form Program – Pathways to Success and Job Guides • Year 11 Course Prerequisites • Term 2 Week 9 – 2009 Course Handbook and Course Selection Form • Term 3 Week 1 – Course Selection Form returned • School counsellor to meet with student and parents to review decisions if Course Prerequisites are not met
