  4. Saint Catherine of Siena SchoolMarch 16, 2018 NEWSLETTER  “Pray tirelessly, because we can be ‘fishers of men’ only if we first recognize that we have been ‘fished’ by the tenderness of the Lord.”  ~Pope Francis Arabella is a wonderful musician and a gifted student. I was so excited when last Monday morning recess, she came to me and to show me her 1st place trophy and her Elite International Music Competition Award! You see, Arabella plays violin... So beautifully in fact, that her talent earned for her a performance at CARNEGIE HALL in New York City! What an honor! What a blessing! 3rd graders worked on drawings for the NH Fire and Life Safety Contest.  The contest is open to 3rd grade students only.    3rd grade students are challenged to design a poster representing an important fire prevention & life safety message.  24 entries were submitted in February. Congratulations, Jodi our 3rd Grade student winner! “Be who God created you to be, and you will set the world on fire.” 4

  6. Saint Catherine of Siena School March 16, 2018 NEWSLETTER March 10, 2018 VEX IQ Challenge at MCC Mrs. Bergeron, At the VEX IQ Challenge today, only one student from our robotics club at St. John Regional School in Concord could make it to the event.  After practicing and having our robot inspected, we were told that to compete we needed two drivers.  Looking around our eight grader, Cameron, spotted a table with five kids at it and went over to ask if anyone wanted to help him compete and be able to drive today. After some discussion among the group…, JP stepped up to the task of helping out our team. Overall, this community effort resulted in an 11th place finish, out of 30 entries, for our robot, not bad for a first time entry and first meeting of these two amazing groups of kids.   I would love to sent this photo and a little write up to the Parable, but would like your permission, and will ask the same of Mr. Donohue, my principal first. Thank you for creating such a wonderful community awareness with your young robotics team, they are truly a blessing to all who meet them. Mrs. Collins, M.Ed., 678 Science St. John Regional School Well, that is nice to hear, right!? This is what I know: Representatives from the Robotics Team competed in the VEXIQ Challenge at Manchester Community College with Mrs. McGrath facilitating the process for SCS. Congratulations to Liam and Elise who came in 13th place out of 30 entries and to Dominic and Will who came in 25th place. JP, as you read, teamed up with an 8th grader from St. John’s in Concord and came in 11th. What an experience for the children.
