The automobile industry produced almost 1/3 of all military equipment, including tanks, jeeps, artillery, mines, etc. Chrysler Advertisement - Why did manufacturers such as Chrysler advertise about their wartime activities rather than their consumer products?

Some didn’t support the war because they were disenfranchised, denied job opportunities, & were still subjected to lynchings 2. Many combined patriotism with protest and called for a “Double V” campaign – fight for victory against Hitler’s racism & the racism at home 3. The first AA pilots who fought in the military were called the Tuskegee Airmen C. President Truman finally integrated the military in 1948
