How does it feel to be in "the flow"? • Completely involved, focused, concentrating - with this either due to innate curiosity or as the result of training • Sense of ecstasy - of being outside everyday reality • Great inner clarity - knowing what needs to be done and how well it is going • Knowing the activity is doable - that the skills are adequate, and neither anxious or bored • Sense of serenity - no worries about self, feeling of growing beyond the boundaries of ego - afterwards feeling of transcending ego in ways not thought possible • Timeliness - thoroughly focused on present, don't notice time passing • Intrinsic motivation - whatever produces "flow" becomes its own reward

  10. Dr. Victor Frankl • “I broke my neck but it did not break me.” Frankle • "He who has a why for life can put with any how."Neitzsche • 3 year Concentration Camp Survivor • Wrote LogoTherapy • “When we are no longer able to change a situation; we are challenged to change ourselves.” Frankle

  11. Dr. Victor Frankl • "Again and again I therefore admonish my students in Europe and America: Don't aim at success - the more you aim at it and make it a target, the more you are going to miss it. For success, like happiness, cannot be pursued; it must ensue, and it only does so as the unintended side effect of one's personal dedication to a cause greater than oneself or as the by-product of one's surrender to a person other than oneself. Happiness must happen, and the same holds for success: you have to let it happen by not caring about it. I want you to listen to what your conscience commands you to do and go on to carry it out to the best of your knowledge. Then you will live to see that in the long-run - in the long-run, I say! - success will follow you precisely because you had forgotten to think about it."
