A Separate Peace • Genre: Coming of age story; tragedy • Setting: New England 1957-58, but flashes back to 1942-43 • Main Character(s): Gene & Finny • Conflict: Gene struggles with his love and hate for his best friend Finny • Plot: Gene and Finny’s experiences at school.
