Examining the Evidence: • Seeing Beyond Invisible Lines • We are beginning to understand real flows of people, materials and money • Collaboration on basis of coherent economic areas: 3 primary spatial drivers • Delivery of economic development to fit the real world • Evidence: gaps being plugged

  8. Through the Barricades • City Region working has introduced something new to principal players • Utility of collaboration clear in policy arenas: RES, RSS etc • Collaboration essential to achieve maximum benefit of delivery • Deep shifts in perception take time; however, good start made

Making it Happen • Big schemes rest on key decisions, funding and partner support – New Blackpool, Preston City Vision and Transformational Agenda • The cases are strong, but this is not enough! • Partner/collaborative working and delivery here to stay • Need real signal of intent from the centre
