RULES FOR 301 • Be on time! If you are not inside the classroom when the bell rings, you are late and will be written up! • No eating or drinking in the classroom. Water is the only exception. • Be prepared! This means you have your textbook, notebook, and a writing utensil. • Raise your hand if you would like to speak! • Bathroom/nurse passes will NOT be given. • Respect the classroom. • Respect each other.
NO CELL PHONES OR ELECTRONIC DEVICES in the classroom!!! • There are no warnings, there are no exceptions!
MISSING WORK • You are only permitted to makeup work for excused absences! • It is your responsibility to hand in the work! • Homework and class work is 50% of your grade.
IF YOU ARE ABSENT • If you have an excused absence check with a classmate for missing notes and/or assignments. • Get the work before class starts!!! • Call a friend! • You have 2 days for every 1 day you are late to hand in an assignment. • Do not wait until an assignment is due to ask questions! • When assignment is complete, submit to teacher- - - write ABSENT (include the date/s)on top of assignment so it does not get marked late.
Don’t lose points! • Be prepared! • This is English class, you will be using a writing utensil everyday. If I have to loan you one, you will lose -2 on that day’s assignment. • Only write in pencil, black ink, or blue ink! • Participate in class discussions and reading aloud. • The correct heading must be on all papers.

DAILY PROCEDURES • Arrive to class on time and prepared. • Find your class journal on the shelf. • Review whiteboard for Do Now. • Complete Do Now and Word of Day (W.O.D.) in journals. • Sit quietly until class begins.
