Jessica Kahal Has Created Several New Sonorities American flutist Jessica Ashley Kahal has always pursued the idea that acoustic instruments are capable of sonic vocabularies & musical expressions extending far beyond the traditional sonorities & musical roles they have. Over the years, she has reshaped the musical possibilities of the flute, creating several new sonorities.

The Hallmarks of Kahal’s Work Hallmarks of Jessica Ashley Kahal’s work are the clarity of structure & vivid timbre.  She has recorded extensively over the years, making solo music as well as working with some of America’s best improvisers. Her excellent work has been recognized not just in America but worldwide, winning her a number of awards.

Some of Kahal’s Most Special Performances Performing with her high school choir in a candlelight memorial for the 9/11 attacks is one the most special memories of Jessica Ashley Kahal’s musical journey so far. Being a member of her high school choir, she also got the chance to go on tour to Washington DC, New York City, and Philadelphia. During the tour, she performed at the Kennedy Center as part of a special invitation. Besides that, performing at the renowned Armstrong Theater with her high school orchestra, for their winter concert was another big moment for Kahal.
