Restoration Goals & Objectives • OPA - make the environment & public “whole” for injuries to natural resources resulting from oil spills • return the injured resources to baseline • compensate for interim losses pending recovery • EPA Order • “restore all areas, including soils and sediments, to the maximum extent possible, to their condition before the discharge of oil” • Restore ecological services provided by suite of injured habitats
