  3. Family and Location • Petrarch was born in Arezzo Italy. When he was older he moved from Italy to Avignon France.

  4. Education and Beliefs • In his earlier years he studied law. • His passion was literature of ancient Greece and Rome. • He believed that humanity could once move and reach the heights of past accomplishments.

  5. Major Works • Petrarch wrote poems, sonnets, letters, and more. • Created Petrarchanism and it is the attitude in love poetry where the object desires. One of his works

  6. interests • Petrarch wrote about a women called Laura. She was a women that he had fallen in love with after seeing he in an Avignon church. Laura
