What is Still Life? • Still life is a picture of objects that do not move. For example, a simple picture of fruit on a table is still life. Photographers and artists set up the still life to be painted or photographed.

Your Task • Create a Power Point presentation of Still Life photos you have gathered with a partner from Flickr and ones you have taken. • The presentation must include: • 2 photos from Flickr • 3 photos you have taken • You may design your Power Point however you like. • Be creative and have fun!
Tips • Look for interesting arrangements. • Get different angles and from different heights. • Use a black or white background. • Use everyday items. • Shoot Vertically and horizontally
Flickr (Quick Review) • Open www.flickr.com. • Click Search, then Advanced Search • Type in the word still life, click advanced search. • Scroll to select only photos, then click Only within Creative Commons. • Click Search. • Choose a picture. • Once you find a picture, look for the requirements from the owner.
Remember! • Once you know the image is okay to use, right click and save image as and give it a name you will remember. • In Power Point, click insert, then picture. • Always cite your sources to give credit to the owner! This is a district policy. Green Still Life by Jason Tromm http://www.flickr.com/photos/trommetter/2250831260/
Your Own Still Life • Once you feel comfortable, grab a partner. • I have brought several items for you to create your own still life. • Use the digital camera to take still life photos-you may remain in the classroom or right outside the door in an area I can see you. • I will download them for you to insert into your Power Point presentation.
