Given a situation students will be able to discuss what was important to people in Indiana in the 1930’s with 100 % accuracy. Given a situation students will be able to discuss the feelings of people during the Great Depression. Teaching Standards:S.S. 4.1.11 Identify and Describe important events and movements that changed life in Indiana in the early twentieth century.

GREAT ANSWER! Remember Ruth is a 4th grade student just like you. She went to school and played with friends just like you do. Ruth had to be thankful for what she had since her dad lost his job.

This is a doll house that is sold at the toy store. It has 7 rooms and 40 pieces of furniture! I really hope my dad can afford this for my birthday. It cost $1.77.

This is my mom Margaret. She spends all her time taking care of the family. She has to make our food and other household supplies stretch since my dad lost his job. She is very supporting of our whole family.
This is my dad John. He just lost his job at the bank because of the depression. He is the main provider for my family, so he is looking for a manual labor job.
This is my brother Jack. He went to school, but he dropped out to join the military. He did this so my dad wouldn’t have to provide for him anymore.
