  7. Matterhorn Mountain The Matterhorn is on the border between Switzerland and Italy. It is one of the highest peaks in the Alps.

  8. Pyrenees Mountains The Pyrenees Mts. separate Spain (and the Iberian Peninsula) from France. The Basque people live in this region and have a unique language/culture due to isolation.

  9. Apennine Mountains The Apennines form the major part of Italy and are mostly rich in vegetation.
