  3. Section A Section A You must answer question 1 Question 1 should take you no more than 15 minutes Question 1 a) will involve comprehension of a source (a ‘WHAT IS THE MESSAGE question). Question 1 b) requires an explanation of a related problem. . You then pick either Question 2 or 3 and answer all three parts of your chosen question

Q2 (c) 10 marks • The following were equally important in causing the failure of the league; (i) The USA’s isolationism; (ii) The Japanese invasion of Manchuria; (iii)The Italian conquest of Abyssinia. How far do you agree with this statement. Explain your answer referring only to (i), (ii) and (iii)

How To Answer Q2 (c) or Q3 (c) (c) question (10 marks) Explain all three factors, Explain links between them (how they worked together) Conclude how it was the combination of these factors together that was important. You get 6 extra marks for Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar. You can get this points even if your answer isn’t the full 10 marks.

  21. Part 2 Q4 – 3 Source questions that you have to answer Q5 or 6 You have a choice Each of questions 5 & 6 will have three structured parts. You must answer all three parts. Section C should take you 70 minutes.

Depth Study: USA Q5 or Q6 • In the final 35 minutes of the exam you must answer either question 5 or 6 on the USA. • These are both (a), (b) and (c) part questions. • They are MARKED exactly the same as q2 and q3 on INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS Fair chance of one question being 1920s and one being 1930s

  30. (c) Questions Judgement • to get top marks a balancedanswer is required. Try to deal with a range of factors or reasons, and the links between them, before concluding.
