Purpose • To provide up to 30 days of unpaid leave to qualifying University employees who are spouses or parents of military service members
Qualifying Employees • Has been employed with the University for at least 12 months
Qualifying Employee con’d • Has worked 1250 hours during the 12 month preceding the leave
Qualifying Employees con’d • Is the spouse or parent of a person called to military service lasting over 179 days or longer
Requests for Military Leave • Request to employee’s immediate supervisor • Maximum leave allowable is 30 working days of unpaid leave
Request for Military Leave con’d • Request of 5 or more consecutive days shall provide at least 14 days calendar notice
Request for Military Leave con’d • Provide advance notice as practical for less than 5 consecutive days • Will be restored to position held prior to leave
