  4. Top Gear • Top Gear is a BBC specialist television programme ,It began in 1977 as a conventional motoring magazine show which covers reviews of the latest cars, as well as vintage cars, advice on which cars to buy and not buy. • The show is broadcast on BBC2 every Sunday from 8pm to 9 pm. The show is currently presented by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.The programme is estimated to have 350 million audience over the world. • The content of the show is basic, but shot in a artistic way. the show is structured on several items, which are challenges ,races, cool wall, unusual reviews and so on.

This Morning • This Morning is a general daytime television programme that begun in 1988 ,it broadcast on ITV 1 for 2 hours, seven days a week. • It provides a wide range of topics, such as entertainment, advice on health and well-being, competitions, cookery and so on. It broadcasts for 9.5 hours each week. • It has always been presented in a chatty and friendly matter. The presenters have informal and relaxed conversation between them or between them and their guest.

Top Gear • The set for Top Gear was designed by Jonathan Paul Green. the studio design is quite simple where the presenters stand, surrounding by a standing audience. but you can also find some creativity elements, for example, the background is made up of car body parts all attached together. • In Top Gear’s set; the main stage where they conduct the interview is similar to This Morning’s set-up , both of the programmes have two sofas and the presenter and guest talk facing towards each other. • Most of Top Gear is made from VT’s, they do testing and races in other locations

This Morning • The This Morning set is comfortable and homely, The main part of the set is like a living room, and there are other areas such as a kitchen, TV area, performance stage and a place for discussion/interviews. • The graphics are quite feminine; it contains floral drawing, girlish drawing and so on.

  10. Top Gear has used an adaptation of ‘The Allman Brothers Band’s’ instrumental hit "Jessica" as its them song since the original series started in 1977. The show used part of the original Allmans' recording of the song up until the late 1990s, but later series and the 2002 relaunch use updated cover visions. The theme song of TopGear is a mulltitrack mix with old instrumental rock music with drums. This Morning has a very upbeat and cheerful title music . It has been slightly changed several times since the show started in 1988, but has sustained the same signature tune. It is a common type of music, using this type of music removes the risk of judgements by the audience. Top Gear & This Morning

  12. the audience of Top Gear is such a vast one, crossing ages, sexes and social groups. but aimed mainly men of all ages because of its content. however there are more and more female audiences appeared during these years, as they got more interest of cars than before. This Morning is clearly mainly aimed at women, because of the style and content of the entire show. The target age is more difficult to define, but mainly at housewives. However, it seems that more appeal to a younger audience recently, such as having Holly Willoughby as a new presenter and younger celebrity guests. Due to its colourful appealing graphics, it also attract younger audience . Top Gear & This Morning

  13. What Do I Like and Why? • Personally, I prefer This Morning. • It is informative and entertaining.It provides a range of topics. • Also, they are not hard to follow and understand, because of the presenters’ informal and approachable style
