  2. The Basics • Squadrons have the option of offering a trial membership to ABC3 Classroom students • Full membership • No dues for six months • Family Unit Members are encouraged to join • Certain procedure requirements must be followed

  3. Full Membership • ABC3Classroom Trial Members Are Active Members, They Can: • Vote if over 18 • Earn Merit Marks • Hold Office if over 18 • Fly the Ensign • Take classes at member rate

  4. No Dues for Six Months • Really, NO dues. Squadron and district dues included. • Free means free • No activation fees • Squadrons can set price of the books for the class

  5. Family Unit Members • Students can bring their household members along • Must meet the membership requirements • If squadrons retain exam requirement, family unit members must have passed a course. Otherwise, all can join. • Remember, all new members are Active Members with full rights and privileges. • Renewal rates are higher for family units than for single actives, so encourage all household members to join.

  6. Procedure Requirements Squadrons must use: • HQ800 online to record their ED27 information • ED26 must be entered via HQ800 Online or BCA7 • MemCom1 must be completed. • Online entry of new members data after ED26 is submitted is via “New Member Processing” website.

  8. HQ800 or BCA7 • Squadrons can use the HQ800 Online system or the BCA7 program for processing students Both Systems will allow • Students to register online • Squadron to process students who walk-in to take a course • Squadron to enter completion data

  9. MemCom1 • All the requirements for membership remain. • The new member needs to fill out and sign a MemCom1. • A squadron member needs to endorse the form. • The Executive Committee needs to approve the application. • This should be done well ahead of the offer.

  10. Membership Entry • For Now: • Squadron enters membership information online using trial membership link

  11. Use Trial Member Entry

HQ800 Online • Soon HQ800 Online will have the capability of adding members directly from the student data base. • MemCom1 still required • All members entered as single active • A new program is being written to allow family unit members who took the class to easily be made into a household unit. • Household members can be added online

  13. Household Member • Household Members can now be added online with no charge for membership until renewal time.

  14. Deadline • ABC3 Classroom Trial members must be entered within 30 days of the class test date. • After 90 days all data from a closed class will be purged. • For classes that ended prior to 1 May 2011, trial members must be entered by 30 May 2011.

  15. Don’t Stop Recruiting • Be sure to invite the new member to: • The squadron’s next meeting • The squadron’s next rendezvous or activity • The squadron’s next course – advanced or elective • Show these folks the value of membership! • Remember, they’ll get a dues notice in four and one-half months!
