Coenzyme Q10. . COENZYME Q10CoQ10 exists in distinct 2 forms: Oxidized (ubiquinone) Reduced (ubiquinol, QH2) It is the oxidized form that is manufactured and sold as what we know as CoQ10, primarily because the reduced form is not a very stable form especially for storage. The body

17. CoQ10 Absorption Absorption:
The amount of a single known ingested dose of CoQ10 transported from the small intestines into the blood plasma. It involves several phases: ingestion by mouth, dissolution (the breakdown of single CoQ10 crystals into single molecules) in the stomach and small intestine into the absorption cells which deliver CoQ10 into the lymphatics, and then into the general circulation of the blood, where CoQ10 becomes bioavailable. Without absorption in the small intestine, CoQ10 is literally flushed out of the body and is not available to the body; without absorption, CoQ10 cannot be bioavailable.
Measured by the time base changes in the amount of CoQ10 appearing in the blood plasma after the ingestion of a single known dose of CoQ10.
(Measured during the intestinal absorption interval)
18. CoQ10 Absorption Process Facilitated passive diffusion
Lipid transport and carrier system
Slow and poor absorption process
Dual transport from intestines to the cells
a. Lympathetic system (Lipid carrier)
b. Circulatory system (Lipid carrier [LDL])
Slow turnover rate (3.5 mg/day Sedentary and 6.5 mg/day Athletes and some clinical conditions) Point out that it must go thru the lymphatics and the more exercise

Heterogeneous normal M/F group N=20.
Single oral dose (100mg)
Fasted and basal condition
Serial blood samples over 36 hours
Breakfast containing lipid but no CoQ10 to activate intestines. No food until after 6 hours. The study, remember this is 10 people on each side of the study
But these studies have been duplicated 3 more times. That is significant. The study, remember this is 10 people on each side of the study
