Enrollment Documents Enrollment Documents are accepted at Paine Elementary on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm • Student Birth Certificate • Student Social Security Card • Custodial Parent’s Photo ID • Current Alabama Immunization Form • Custody Papers (if applicable)
Teacher Letters Mailed to Student’s Home Address on July 19, 2018 Students Who Have Completed All Steps of the Registration Process Before July 13th Will Receive a Teacher Letter in the Initial Mailing.

School Supplies All supplies your child will need for the year may be purchased by the school, such as markers, crayons, glue, paper, etc. for a supply fee of $30.00. A supply list has been provided for you in your folder if you wish to purchase your own school supplies. If you are purchasing school supplies on your own, please bring those supplies with you to Meet the Teacher on August 5th at 3:00 PM.
Carline Procedures If your child is a car rider: • Please have your child’s name visible in the car front window. This sign will be provided at Meet the Teacher. • A teacher or aide will walk your child to the bus, shuttle, or carline for the first few weeks. Please continue to send your child’s lanyard with them each day for the first few weeks, telling how they will get home (care, bus, shuttle). • Please keep emergency contact information up to date. Only people on the list are allowed to pick up your child. This must go through the office before we will release your child. Any change in transportation must be communicated to the office.
Attendance School begins each day at: 8:00AM School dismisses on Mondays at: 2:00PM School dismisses Tuesday-Friday at: 3:00PM Students will be counted tardy after 8:00AM. Students may enter beginning at 7:20AM. There will be teachers and safety patrollers ready to assist them. * Regular attendance is essential for success.
Dismissal Changes Students must have a written note from the parent or guardian if there is any change in the way he/she departs from school. Unless notified by parent or guardian, your child’s teacher will follow usual going home procedures. Please notify the office by phone as soon as possible if there are any changes during the day in the way your child will go home.
Attendance Policy Notes • Excuses must be submitted to Paine Elementary Registrar within 3 days of the student returning to school • Doctor Excuses must be original and either brought to school by student/parent OR faxed to school from the Doctor’s office. Fax # = 205-228-3201 • Each student is allowed 6 Parent Notes per school year (for illness when a Dr. visit is not necessary, family trips, etc.) • Parent Notes can be brought to school by student OR emailed to Registrar: Debra.meacham@trussvillecityschools.com Please include the registrar in any emails to teachers regarding your student’s absences.
Husky Folders Please check for notes, papers, and work each day. The folder should be returned to school the following day.
Recess We will have recess each day for 15 minutes (except Mondays) weather permitting. Please label all items with a permanent marker including backpack, jackets, hats, etc…

Report Cards Paine Elementary implements a standards based report card for grades K-2. The standards based report card provides parents with specific information related to progress in the areas of reading, math, English language arts, science, social studies, and conduct. Report cards will be sent home each trimester (12 weeks): November 2 February 15 May 23
Requirements for Shoes: •Completely cover the toes •Completely cover the heel (no straps) •No heel height •Rubber bottom (Preferably, tennis shoes) P.E. Students will have P.E. each day. We ask our students to wear shoes safe for exercise. P.E. Coaches Scott Cooper Scott Burnett
