Resource Review(Everyday Math) During the 2010-11 school year, the Elementary Math Committee was charged with evaluating the current math resource (EM) to determine if it was aligned to the new Common Core Learning Standards. After a thorough review, the committee unanimously found significant discrepancies and requested a review of alternative resources.
Mathematics Common Core Standards • Greater emphasis on fewer topics at greater depths • Attention to specificity & clarity, less ambiguity • Coherent articulation of standards across grades • Concept Development and Procedural Fluency • BASE 10 Number & Operation & Algebraic Thinking • Rigorous content by means of higher order thinking • Composite of strategies from High Achievers
