Subject • The subject names the person, place, or thing that the whole sentence is about.
Predicate(Verb) • The action of the sentence is called the predicate.
Bare Bone Sentence • A bare bone sentence is one that has a subject and a predicate, but no meat.
Predicate Expander • This expands the predicate by answering how, when, where, or why. • This is where the 4 come from in the predicate symbol. Why Where When How
Connector • The connector is used to connect single words, parts of word, and sentences. (and, or, but)
Subject Describers(Adjectives) • Subject describers are words that describe the subject.
Substitute Namers(Pronouns) • These are words that substitute for the name of the subject.
Bound Predicate(Helping Verb) • These words have very meaning of their own; they need a completer to equal a complete thought.
