  2. EndNote keeps references in files called Libraries. To see details of a reference, double-click on the title.

  3. Sample of an EndNote reference. Many more fields are not shown, such as keyword, abstract, file attachments, etc.

  4. Export references from Academic Search Premier database

  5. Click Add to Folder icon to select references to be exported Click on Folder icon to view selected references

  6. Click Export icon

  7. Direct Export to EndNote is the default setting for exporting Click Save button

  8. EndNote will open and the 3 references will show in the Library Double-click each reference to view and make any modifications

  9. Insert citations in your paper as you write and format your bibliograpy in MS Word To insert your citation, select it from your EndNote library and click Insert Selected Citation from the EndNote X2 tab

  10. As you insert citations, they will appear in your text and a bibliography will be created at the end of your paper.

  11. To change the citation style, use the Style drop-down menu. In this example, we changed to CBE Style Manual C-S (a numbered style). The previous screen shows the style APA 5th (an author-date style).
