Cape San Juan aerosol sampling inlet Standard NOAA/ESRL/GMD design Splitter provides 4 additional 30 lpm sampling lines (not shown) Easy to add additional instrumentation One spare line is stainless steel
Current collaborative measurements at Cape San Juan Continuous aerosol measurements since November 2004: total and back scattering (450, 550, 700 nm) absorption (467, 530, 660 nm) two size cuts: 10um and 1um • Derived parameters: • Aerosol single scattering albedo • Angstrom exponent • Backscatter fraction • Asymmetry parameter • Sub-um fraction • Radiative forcing efficiency (TOA) Aerosol system also logs aethalometer data and has capability to log various TSI particle counters, DMT CCN, and raw serial data streams. All instruments have same time stamp http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/gmd/aero/net/cpr/index.html#plots
