  3. I. JOHN’S INTRODUCTION

  4. A. The title that John uses. (Rev 1:9) I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawestare the seven churches. Historically • (These are 7 literal and historical churches of Asia Minor (Turkey) in 95 AD when the book was written.) • Inspirational • (These churches represent the 7 characteristics of churches of today and the 7 strategies that Satan use to attack the church) • Doctrinally (Prophetical) • (These churches represent the 7 periods of Church history from the book of Acts to the Rapture of the Church)
