  4. Location Overview Narasapur, a town on the busy Bangalore-Kolar highway, is all set to become a big industrial hub soon. Narasapura is 55 Km from Koramangala, 42 Km from KR Puram ,38 Km from Whitefield, 26 Km from Hoskote & 55 Km from BIAL.

  5. Location Overview • Narsapur is already a hub for automobile and aerospace giants. The Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) has acquired land for four phases of development here. A Japanese co-transmission built manufacturing plant (worth Rs 100 crores) and a Swedish complete assembly unit is also operational here.

Location Overview • “Narsapura, an attractive destination among automobile and aerospace industries, is expected to be one of the key pivotal points in the ambitious Bangalore-Chennai Industrial Corridor project. KIADB is developing this area, which stretches over 1,200 acres, with basic as well as high quality infrastructure facilities. KIADB has put up the necessary infrastructure work such as electricity, telephone lines, sewage treatment plants, water supply etc. The current land sale price at the location ranges from Rs1.5-2.5 crores per acre,” says Naveen Nandwani, Director, South India, Cushman and Wakefield.

Socio-Economic Growth Potential According to Vestian, a global reality strategic and transaction advisory agency, at least 40,000 jobs would be created in and around Narasapur by 2015 and many more in the next five to ten years.  Karnataka State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd Managing Director P B Ramamurthy said, “Many industrialists have brought vast tracts of land on their own and some of them have got them sanctioned through  Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) and are getting the licences processed. A few companies, including Honda have started working on their projects. Therefore, it is premature to predict the number of jobs that would be created by them. However, Narasapura is all set to become an industrial hub very soon.”

  9. Industrial Growth • Vestian CEO Srinivas Rao said more than 400 Japanese companies, including NYK Logistics, Sumitomo Corporation, Mitsui, Canon, Komatsu, Sharp, NTT and Santen are busy making preparations to establish their units near Narasapur.

  10. Industrial Growth • Companies like Honda, Volvo, Bando, Mahindra, Toyota and Honda motorbikes already have their units in the area and are planning to expand. Narasapur falls within the proposed Bangalore - Chennai corridor and is also close to the Dhabol gas line.Meanwhile, the state government has acquired around 4,000 acres of land near Mulbagal, Kolar and Hoskote and has proposed to establish automobile parks in Hoskote and Kolar.

Industrial Growth Objective • The Society for Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) in its Automotive Mission Plan (AMP) 2006-16 aims at doubling the contribution of the automotivesector to the GDP with special emphasis on small cars, MUVs, two and three wheelers and auto components. The Indian Automotive Industry after de-licensing in July 1991 has grown at a spectacular rate on an average of 17 percent in the last few years. The exports in the automotive sector have grown on an average CAGR of 30 percent per year for the last five years.
