Procurement • Initiatives • Short term: Key Supplier Program, NHS SC targets, standard list, benchmarking • Medium/Long: Centralisation, GSI, Procurement • Recent Changes • ABHI negotiated a new cross government approach to procurement engagement • Oversight improvement by government ministers and senior officials • Ministerial acceptance of disconnects in implementation of policy • KSP has been paused while they assess their approach • New stakeholders, eg OLS (new office headed by Nicole Mather)
Specialised Services • Turn around team to report in September • New Board level position in NHSE to be created • Relative Resource Prioritisation exercise underway • Will apply to all direct commissioning Insert footer text by selecting 'Insert - Header & Footer'
Market Access • Innovation • IHW review being conducted by Cabinet Office • Innovation Scorecard and NIC taking wider remit – inclusion of MTG • AHSN still to make significant impact • Evidence of “clustering” • Network of Networks established and active • Tariff • 15/16 Tariff Engagement document due in ~3weeks • Stepping stone to more radical change in 16/17 • More local negotiation
Ethics and Compliance • Credentialing • Highly active market place • Currently 3 hospitals have formally implemented commercial systems • ABHI believe an industry wide self regulated scheme remains best option for members and for partnership working with NHS • Discussion with NHS England and DH on standardisation and interoperability
