Why the Rise in cycle crime • Cycle ownership has been made popular by the Olympics & projects like the Bike to work scheme • Cycle riding is seen as a healthier option • Cycle ownership has risen as it can be more cost affective to ride than drive a car where you have to pay for parking • A basic bike is now around £500 • Expensive bikes cost thousands RESTRICTED
