Behavioral Expectations: Class Rubric and Expectations • 4: Class remained focused and on task throughout the period. All students completed tasks asked of them in a timely and professional manner. • 3: Class remained focused and on task for the majority of the period. Most students completed the tasks asked of them in a timely and professional manner with minimal reminders from teacher. • 2: Class remained focused and on task for some of the period. Some students completed the tasks asked of them in a timely and professional manner. Teacher needed to speak to the class or select students repeatedly. • 1: Class was unfocused and off task for majority of the period despite numerous reminders from the teacher.
Professional BehaviorUniform The uniform consists of a maroon polo-style shirt with the school logo, navy blue trousers and black shoes/ boots. TOPS: • Navy blue sweaters over their uniform shirts. • Shirts must be tucked into pants all day. Bottoms: • Navy blue dress pants. Jeans are not acceptable. Shoes: • Solid black boots or shoes . NO WHITE or COLOR! Accessories: Hats, head coverings, excessive jewelry, or distracting make-up are not to be worn in the school building. Anything deemed to be distracting to the learning process is not permitted.
Professional BehaviorPrepared w/School Supplies • Scholars should bring their HW, planners, binders and writing utensils to school everyday. • Other supplies will be needed for subject classes. • See website at watersideschoolforleadership.com • Every scholar must have an INDEPENDENT READING BOOK! • Ask your child what he or she is reading this week.
Professional BehaviorWhat not to bring……. • Technology, Silly Bands, Toys, etc. • First offense: Scholars must pick up their device at the end of the school day in the main office • Second offense: Scholars may pick up their device on Friday at the end of the school day in the main office • Third offense: A parent must visit the school to retrieve the device. • Fourth offense: A parent may visit the school to retrieve the device end of the marking period.

Presence and ParticipationAttendance • Scholars are expected to be at school at 8:00 am. Scholars after this time will be considered late. • Dismissal Mon – Thurs 2:55; Fri 2:30 pm • 90% attendance for promotion to the next grade level • A hundred percent (100%) attendance should be the goal of every scholar. • Phone calls will be made daily if late/ absent!
