Introduction • I'm trying to know the dimensions of a video game ( cinema screens, television screens, computer screens ) and to find how are they the same?
Aspect Ratios • An images ratio is the width by the height .Its algebraic format is X:Y. X= the width of the image. Y= the height of the image. For example: 19:1 The width of the image. The height of the image
Cinema Screens • Wikipedia reports that “The motion picture industry convention assigns a value of 1.0 to the image’s height” which means that the height is 1. The common projection ratio is 2.4:1 x 19;1 or (any other number).
Televison Screens In TV there is two types of ratios 4:3 and 16:9 4:3 ratio is fit for standard television, which is also used in computer monitors. 16:19 ratio is for HD TV , most of the video digital cameras have a ratio of 16:19.To get 4:3 to 16:9 you multiply 4.3 times 4.3.
Computer Screens • If the ratio is 4:3 for example then the width would be 1024 pixels. If it was 16:9 it would be like if it has 1024 wide the height would be 576 pixels.
For Computer ScreensCalculations D= Diagonal Length R= Ratio
Conclusion • Pictures are not always the same. As shown in • in the image below: As you can see that right side is where some of the picture was cut offf. I think changing the size of the picture can change the picture.
