2. PROTECT YOUR LITTLE ONE FROM HFMD What is HFMD? Hand foot and mouth disease is a highly contagious infection commonly caused in children's it is caused by the virus that is coxsackievirus. This virus can spread from person to person by direct contact like contaminated surface unwashed hands. This virus can also spread through droplet infection for respiratory secretions. Although it can affect people of all ages but children below 5 years of age are more prone of getting HFMD. 5. 1) Washing hands frequently - • Wash your hands frequently with water and soap. Clean your hands with alcohol based sanitizer.  • Always wash hands after changing diapers, after using toilet, after coughing or sneezing. 2) Clean and disinfect - • Always clean and disinfect frequently touch  • surfaces including toys and door knobs. 3) Isolation -  Always try to maintain at least 6 feet of distance from the infected person, else isolation is the best option.
