  1. Fred Five the Ladybird Hello Once upon a time there was a little ladybird called Fred. Click on Fred to say hello. They called him Fred Five because he had 5 spots . Let’s count them together.

  3. They all looked different but there was something that they all had in common....Can you spot it? Sarah Ben Tom Sue Fred Mary

  4. Let’s look a little more closely at Sarah’s spots....Can you write a number sentence for Sarah? My spots add up to 5 Sarah 1 + 4 = 5

  5. Let’s look a little more closely at Tom’s spots.... My spots add up to 5 Tom 3 + 2 = 5

  6. How many spots does Ben have? My spots add up to 5 Ben 4 + 1 = 5

  7. What about Mary? My spots add up to 5 2 + 3 = 5 Mary

  8. How many spots do you think Sue has? My spots add up to 5 5 + 0 = 5 Sue

  9. Oh, and don’t forget Fred. My spots add up to 5 0 + 5 = 5 Fred

  10. So they were all part of the Five family, and they all had 5 spots.Can you think of any other ways to make 5? 0 + 5 = 5 3 + 2 = 5 4 + 1 = 5 1 + 4 = 5 2 + 3 = 5 5 + 0 = 5
