Where in the World are the Tropical Rainforests? • 57% of Tropical Rainforests are located in Latin America • 1/3 are in Brazil • Other Tropical Rainforests are located in Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands (25%) • West Africa has 18% of the World’s Tropical Rainforests http://mbgnet.mobot.org
Landforms • Some landforms in the Tropical Rainforest are the Amazon river. Many other rivers are also located in the rainforest area • Another landform is the Andes Mountains http://mbgnet.mobot.org
Animals • One of the animals that live in the tropical rain forests are Chimpanzees • Chimpanzees eat nuts, leaves, and berries • Orangutans also live in the tropical rainforest • They also feed on leaves and berries • Both are in the Primate family • One type of snake that lives in the rain forest is the Vine Snake • They feed on young birds and lizards http://mbgnet.mobot.org

Only some tropical forests are rain forests, they have to lie between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn, receive rainfall regularly throughout the year (80-400 inches a year), and remain warm without frost all year long! • How much does it rain in the rainforest?
