Temperature in the rainforest • The temperature is 26ºc in tropical rainforests. • In tropical rainforests the temperature rarely gets higher that 93ºf
Animals Toucans: The toucans’ large beak help it pick up and eat their large prey. Their feathers change color to blend in with the surroundings in tropical forests. Tree snail: they eat gazing fungus that grows on the surface of native plant leaves. Snails protect themselves from from predators by hiding beneath their shells.
Spider monkey • Spider monkey: They have long and strong tails that they use to swing from branches and lianas. spider monkeys have forward looking eyes that can see distances below great heights.
Animals Sloth: sloths have long claws to get a good grip around trees and move very slow that their predators cannot see them in the trees. Macaw: they use their tails to keep themselves balanced on the trees. Their bright colors make all the other creatures see them. They also have a slow wing beat so predators cant see or hear them.
Plants Bark: they don’t need thick bark to keep them from drying out because the rainforest is already wet. Some trees have thin barks the smoothness of it makes it difficult for plants to grow on the surface. Mangroves: many mangroves have glands that excrete salt. They live in places where there is little oxygen in the soil and a lot of salt. Their leaves are thick and leathery to reduce excessive transpiration.
Plants Drip tips: they adapted to cope with high rainfall. Drip tips allow raindrops to slide down quickly. Lianas: lianas grows from the forest floor up a tree truck and into the canopy.
Abiotic factors of the rainforests • The abiotic factors of the rainforest id the amount of water and weather. • These factors also affect the type of animals and plants that live in my biome.
Human activities • Human cut down trees in the rainforest and this affects the habitat of species. • Humans kill animals in order to get food, this is a bad thing because if people kill animals they will be endangered.
