Coat of arms Commune Lasowice Wielkie is a rural administrative district in Kluczbork county, Opole Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. Its seat is the village of Lasowice Wielkie, which lies approximately 13 kilometres south of Kluczbork and 31 km north-east of the regional capital Opole.
The commune covers an area of 210.84 square kilometers, including 127.99 square kilometers of forests and 75.69 square kilometers of fields.
The commune contains the 13 villages andsettlements of: Lasowice Wielkie Chocianowice Chudoba Ciarka Gronowice Jasienie Laskowice Lasowice Małe Oś Szumirad Trzebiszyn Tuły Wędrynia
The rivers: Odra, Bogacica and Budkowiczanka flow through our commune.
According to the 2009, total population is about 7216 people, including: - 51,1% of women - 49,9% of men
Evangelicalchurch in Lasowice Wielkie Itshows other hour from each part. It was build in 1864. In our community most of people are catholic, but there is also a group of evangelicals.
This is an area of German minority. The German language is introduced as a supporting language.
Our commune is agricultural. There are arable lands, orchards, grasslands and pastures. There is not a significant industry. A lot of people go abroad to look for a job.
HISTORY •The beginnings of settlement in this area date back in the XIII century. There were the first villages: Chocianowice (1213), Laskowice (1239), Lasowice Wielkie and Lasowice Małe (1292), and Chudoba (1297). •XIV century – lands belonged to the prince Olesky •1532-1742 – dominion of the Habsburgs •In the XVII and XVIII centuries natural disasters and epidemic plagued the population •1742 - Prussian dominion •In the interwar period people were germanized, mainly in Laskowice •1945 – occupation of the land by Soviet Army
