Targets Students will write at least half a page in their journals, and will spend 80% of time their time writing. Improve decoding skill using a phonic fill in the blank activity. Students will create simple text and messages, and discuss these messages as they relate to a short film.
Class Outline Review last class. Outline class targets and structure. Discuss writer’s workshop, develop a plan for writing, and write (L1 and L2). Fill in the blank activity. Using a Cooperative Learning model, students conduct a silent conversation. Assess our performance and our goals.
Writer’s Workshop Student will share some of their writing and discuss their plans and problems. Each class member must give one piece of positive feedaback, or ask one question about each classmates writing. Students will then in their journals for approximately 15 minutes (L1 or L2), or continue to search for ideas and reason for write. The goal is to spend 80% of their time actually writing, and 20% thinking.
